I mounted this motor a little higher than normal because I drove it daily and didn't want pan clearance problems with speed bumps, angled driveways, etc. Consequently, the stock Ford motor mounts show quite a bit and are ugly as sin.
This is what I did to put a 302 with a front sump pan in a Chevelle front clip in my 56 F-100.

Thanks guys. Yep Bob, I have to have some PURPLE on the car somewhere as an historic tribute.
Glenn, I like 2 x 4 setups too. This ones a little overcarbed, but as Fernando said "It's better to LOOK good than to FEEL good."
Mike: That's a nice clean way to do the mounts. In hindsight I should have done that way back when I built it, but I wanted that tube crossmember under the engine for a little more stiffening on the original Model A frame.
