OMG, I bought the PINK version by mistake!!I did it just for you Bob.
Paul, no, you have Don and me confused with Dan. Now, there is someone who worries about small pinholes in the transmission case paint.I can't wait to see what happens when some stray bug has the nerve to hit his car going down the road.

Steve, the chassis and engine are all done, just sitting there waiting for the body to be dropped on for the last time. The picture below is how it sits. The wheels are black (I had them powdercoated this time) and I'm running my old favorite, wide whites from Coker and trim rings and caps. I had red wheels the last time, so this will be a little different.
Lamin8r.........you are so right, I think 27's look great in black satin, and tonight I finally got the body sprayed and am in love with the way it looks. We were going to do it over the weekend, but it rained every day, so tonight Dan came over after work and we got it shot.
I am going to wet sand the entire body and shoot it one more time. I found some little scratches in the primer that I didn't see before, and a couple of stray bugs got into the paint. I'll wait a few days and sand it down and maybe shoot it again next weekend. That's the trouble with this satin paint, if you screw up you can't buff it out because it turns shiny. I expect that tomorrow the paint will have calmed down a little more, it was already settling into a nice satin finish when I left tonight.
Dan likes it so much he is considering painting his rpu with the same paint.

Thanks. Yep, I agree on the striping. Hope to run into a good striper at Billetproof at Don Garlits place in October. Just some tasteful lines on the headlights, dash, and trunk lid, I think.

Thanks Steve. The 46 is actually a tudor sedan, and is sitting under a cover in the shop, waiting for me to do something with it. That probably will be the next thing I work on after the 27 is done. I'd like to make that one my daily driver, sbc drivetrain (ala the Camaro ex race car I bought a while back) but with the body kinda left as it is now, patina and all. At least that is the plan for now.
