I had missed your thread as well. Nice rod and nice work on it. Do you have any particular time you'd like to be driving it again?Ryan

I bet you don't hate that hoist I hear you on the getting things to fit right. I fought fitment problems a lot on my 53. For me I think it was a combination of they didn't care how they fit when it was new, me not welding patch panels in right, and me being anal. The more chips you get in your paint, the less you'll notice them.Seth

30_40, thanks for the flip.
Ryan, I would like to at least get the running gear together where I can get it on the road and hit some of the local car shows this summer. Then get on with the cosmetics.
Seth, yes, I blame mt patch work on that rear fender to my not checking the job with the good fender. Haste makes waste. It will be coming off again soon to fix the fit and the mistake made in attaching the bottom bobbed part of the fender back to the rest of fender. The mistake can be easily seen in the straight on pic in a post made while still in WA. in my old shop. Looking back I wonder now how I got it together 50+ years ago and drove it for 15+ years. Memory of having fit problems must have faded over the years.
I am still waiting to hear from a private land owner to see if he got any of the Depredation Hunt tags. If he gets them I will be heading back over to the Challis area for another hunt. I really hope he gets them as I would like to get that first animal in Idaho out of the way.
More to come as progress proceeds.

Thanks Steve for the offer, much appreciated. I hunt more for the getting out in the woods and hiking around than for the meat. Good thing too as I do a lot more hunting than I do finding. When I do find though it often the wrong species or wrong gender; but that is ok too as I enjoy watching them just as much.

I'd never considered raising game on private land: quite the concept. I wonder how many miles of red tape it would take to do it with moose?.
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

I think there is a lot of red tape involved! The business went belly up a few years ago, but I think they still do thinning of the herd hunts on the one piece of property they still have left! For me with the fires around the zones I hunt, mingled with a booming bear, mountain lion and wild pig populations, the stress on the deer poplulations makes it's pretty hard to get a deer on public land unless you have lots of time and gas money! The deer are also pretty small, so I stopped hunting them 5 years ago. Did get a wild pig last year. My favorite lean meat is Elk. I do miss walking the woods with the old guys, but they too are getting long in the tooth and can't get out energy wise!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

be very careful with wild hogs. i refuse to eat them. if you see gray specks in the meat throw it out. we shoot them and throw them in a burn pile. things are loaded with parasites and larvae .

this was a young male, but I am aware of wild pig problems, thanks for the heads up! Always pays to be safe." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

I'm getting a little long in the tooth myself, would you believe I'm older than uncle Bob, but staying active helps to keep the joints from getting stiff. After a good 4-5 day hunt I come home feeling better all over, if only I worked harder in the off season.
