Next Car - Setup Advice Sought

I'm looking for advice on what model of car to choose and am looking for advice on maintaining traction. I'm planning a 725HP/770TQ street legal, daily driver car.

I need to pick a car that's below 3,700 lbs stock. My goal is to have great traction off the line. I like to find a car that would allow me to run 10" wide rims without tubing the rear of the car. That's not a must but I am trying to remain street legal. I may need to run a 2.75-3.08 ring & pinion.

I’ll be runing a 598 CID NA Dart Big M low deck block. The camshaft will be a small steetable one and compression will be a low 9.5:1. The company I'm looking at guarantees theirs to be 725 HP @ 5500 RPM and 770 TQ @ 4600 RPM. A very low RPM streetable engine.

The transmission will be a TH200-4R rated @ 1,000 HP.

So which car should I use?

A '68 to '72 Nova would be a good choice, or maybe a G body so you have a full frame to work with...depends on what body style you prefer... Most anything can be made to hook up good with the correct parts...

I'm currently looking at a 1969 -1972 Pontiac Lemans. The Nova seems to be more limited on rear tire width without tubbing it.

I really do believe that hooking up will be very challenging with over 700HP/750TQ on street tires. The rear tires will need to be tall & wide with soft, flexible sidewalls.

I'm still not sure on the correct ring & pinion ratio.

It will take some suspension work to hook it up, for sure.... They could barely handle the output of a stock engine...

the A body and G are about the same and can be made to hook up good on the street .that will not be the same as the track. right now my 66 hooks about the best it ever has and thats with a 632 donovan in it . the 4.500 crank in a 9.800 deck block ?your looking at a 6.385 rod or a 6.405 . for the street. a pump gas 565 or 582 would work good to. if you want it to hook you need to get away from the iron block and move to a all alum bbc thats 460lbs and is about 150+lbs less off the front end and helps alot
