Getting started
I am to begin restoring my 50 Merc. Problem is, where to start. I have 100 people telling how and where to start, and they are all different. Frame, motor, electrical, front clip, rear end, where do I begin.

Del You have a good project to start with. Without a good frame your not going to have a base to start with. Disassemble the car down to the frame and if your going to leave it stock check for cracks and rust. Sandblast the frame down to bare metal and go from there. If you going to update it look for a good suspension like Mustand ll or someones elses there alot to look for. I saved some money and pulled the front suspension off a nova which gave me a more modern suspension plus disc brakes. After the suspension you can go to whatever you want. If youre going to go with a modern V-8 and if you have help you can either build one or buy one already built. Hope this helpsKeep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
