    Beach Hop 2010.Whangamata. NZ.

Yes,I am a bit late posting this, but,we have been busy uploading and sorting pix into albums.. Wednesday 24 March saw us go north to the annual Beach Hop rocknroll festival[what?me dance??dont think so]..
    1300 cars,mainly American,but with a scattering of English,Australian,and a few VWs,and more people you could poke a stick at,including Aussies,and a certain guy from Utah,[Willie Marshall]who comes out here every year now,for AmeriCARna,and this year,Beach Hop...
First pic is us going back to camp a couple of miles out of town..gotta keep the underside of the truck clean, dont ya..

Heres a link to the other pix.We weeded out the best of 760 pix.

The cruise must have been a good ride, good to see so many cars fire it up and go along!

Yes guys,it was a good time up there..A lot of folk get into Whangamata as early as Monday afternoon, and settle in for a few days of R/R before it all starts,so its not uncommon to see rods and cruisers rolling around town just relaxing...even with petrol at $1.89/LITRE...The one and only gas station ran out twice during the week..We only used 62 litres of LPG[$70]and a few gallons of gas the whole week...[tight ass]
Heres another link to Noddy Watts[organiser]pix..There are a lot of double up pix,so you will have to flick thru them, but they are enteraining..Even your fellow American on stage during the junkyard fashion show,,with his best threads on...
The crowd shot of the main street is Saturdays grand parade. The town only has a population of about 6000,last year the Hop brought about $4million into the area during the week..

So ,no one has made a commend about the cleanliness of the underside of your truck,so looks like it is up to me.... WHY, the dust under carriage suits that matt finish? my luck if I camped where you did, once I had my bucket acroos the stream, it would rain and the stream would become a river which I wouldn't be able to cross again until next summer.

    Thanks for the pix.

Looks like, from the pix, that NZ. is an island off the coast of the US.
