Got it!
Hey guys,
I posted a while back about how I found my first car after nearly 15 years of seperation. The owner did not seem all that interested in parting with it.
Well.....we finally got together and made a deal.
I am trading him my modified 85 Vette plush some cash to get back my 69 Camaro!!!!!!!!!
We do the deal this Saturday. I am sooooo excited!
I want to set an intitial goal of getting it substantially finished to cruise to Good Guys 05 in Columbus OH. My wife has most of her family there, and our soon to be newborn would be center stage with the family at that time. What better way to celebrate both, and have a fun road trip?
Now.....to the drawing board!

69MyWay You made me smile when you said 69 Camaro. Ihad one many years ago and probablyhad more fun in that than any thing I owned. Yanked the 327(210HP) out and put in a 327 (300)HP from a 65 Chevy Super Sport. Have funKeep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

Here's the scoop. This is what the Camaro looked like when I got it from my brother around 1984-5. Note the bright yellow 85 IROC Z in the bachground. My dad was with Chevrolet, and that was a brand new company car when we shot this picture. It was the first yellow Z delivered to Florida at the time.
Here is me an my dad putting the 350 back in after he taught me how to rebuild it:
Here I am with the car in 1988 on my way to Prom:
And....here is how it looks as of right now. This picture was taken on January 4, 2004.
I can't wait to get it home and see what I need to do.
The current owner had the following done:
1. new outter quarters
2. new inner fenders
3. new trunk
4. floor repair
5. cowl replacement.
6. panel behind the rear window replaced
7. new front header
8. metal welded in the rust on doors and front fenders
He has:
1. All new weather strips in boxes
2. new carpet in boxes
3. new headliner in boxes
4. all kinds of trim, emblems, etc.
5. primer/paint materials sealed up and ready.
Basically, the HARD stuff is done. I need to long block the car several times and make sure she is straight. I can then blow it apart and start shooting the jams.
It needs:
1. Paint
2. suspension rebuild
3. engine rebuild/replacement.
4. re-assembly.
I think it is possible to consider Summer 05...but it will be a stretch. I love a good challenge. In fact, I am busting my butt to finish the 23 T before the Goodguys show this March.

You guys are going to love this.
Okay, I am in a race against time...and my unborn son in my wife's belly to get the 23Trod ready for its first show the end of this month. Time and money are getting VERY tight...so, the odds are getting stacked against me.
On top of all that, enter the 69 Camaro back in my life.
Here is the wild part (if this does not mean things are meant to be...I don't know what does).
1. I needed a fan temp switch to cycle the newly added electric fan on the T. I had on on the Camaro back in the day, but noticed somebody replaced it with a fan clutch. Low and behold, the temp switch was left in the intake with the cool weather pack harness all these years. Zoink.....it is now on the T.
2. The brakes failed on the T. I assume the m/c got air in it while I had it off and it gawled the wall or seal. Long story short, I needed a m/c right away (remember, no money...no time). I am in a panic looking at the dead one on the T, when I happen to pop the hood on the Camaro and take a peek. Whoa! They are exactly the same!!!!!!!!!!! So, I snagged it and swapped it...and not the T stops.
3. The fairly new Holley 600 carb on the T has been behaving badly. For reasons unknown to me, it leaks fuel all over the intake when left overnight. I have checked the bowl gaskets, etc. etc. and can't seem to stop it (maybe a crack in the housing).
So...pop the hood on the Camaro. Somebody replaced my old double pumper with a little single feed vacuum secondary Holley just like the one on the T. Zoink....slapped it on the T last night, and it purs like a kitten with no leaks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, thanks to getting the project Camaro home, the T is little by little coming back to life. If my kid stays put in momma's belly until the end of the month...well, the whole plan will come together just right. If not....well, that's okay too.

The T bucket project is basically done.
We are going to take it to a little show this weekend, then it goes back to my mom's garage. I have really enjoyed having it here, and it worked me thin a few times.
Now, the Goodguys show is sort of up in the air with the due date of the child right around the same time. So, this may be the only show the T goes to anytime soon.
With that said....I get my garage space back as soon as I take the T back!!!!!!!!!!!
So...project MYN AGIN (mine again) starts this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
