I remember seeing a few early 60's Consul's and Zepher"s around here. I think the Zepher's were straight sixes, and the Consul's were 4"s?

Yup,the Zephyrs were THE car to be seen in down here in NZ,when we were in our teens/early 20s.The venerable Mk 2 Zeph[1957-62] was THE cruiser in the late 60s/early 70s..Best way to pick up chicks down here,BUT...ya needed the Zephyr, those four cylinder Consuls just didnt cut the mustard... That model Capri only came in here in small numbers, mainly private imports, even less now, though there was a rusty LHD Capri a little bit south of here, languishing in a shed...dont know where it is now..

Didn't the Consul's have a grill like a '55 Chevy, and the Zepher have a grill that went from fender to fender?
My cousin had one, brush painted red and white, a real chickmobile for sure ,haha!

Yeah,Consuls grille was a bit bland looking..the Zephyr oozed KOOL to us young guys back then...Saw one a few months back further down the island from where we live,,Mk2,convertible,,still in very good shape,,LHD,with California plates still on it..Bob Wilton in Carterton owns it,along with a few others..
