One Way To Build A Hot Rod Lincoln
I have been mentally building this truck since a friend of mine gave me this model, three years ago.
The plan is:
1932 Ford Truck
1946 Lincoln V12 with Ardun Head conversion
Stainless steel frame extended 6", 3" kick up in the front, cut down threw the cab area 3" for extra head room, kicked up 6" in the rear frame.
Stainless 5" dropped axle, stainless spindles, king pins and steering.
V8 quick change with the bells made out of stainless.
Air suspension front and back.
One of the reasons it has taken so long is the frame, I didn't want to start with a set of rails and cut them up as I have done in the past. I wanted to start from scratch and have it designed right from the start. That's when I decided to make it out of stainless.There either will be no chrome or polish and everything will be the brushed look or there will be a lot of polished parts.
The drawings were sent to the Lazar cutter 2 weeks ago, they should be here this week, so I will start as soon as they arrive.

Hard to believe Ken! I suppose you'll have to make the Ardun stuff from v/8 stuff?

Gee Ken, between you and Steve in England, using all that stainless in your builds, these cars should be around after a nuclear attack. Can't wait to see your updates.

Ron- I thought the 12 cylinder engines were based on the V8 configuration. I think it was J. Robinson was talking to a friend of his and he said they are based on the V8 60 configuration. When I bought mine sure enough it is. This is a long story but if I don't explain this it won't make sense how I have gotten to the point I'm at. Don Ferguson is the guy reproducing the Ardun heads now. He has helped me with this so far. When I told him what I wanted to do he said he had a friend in Oregon that had a set of Ardun style heads for a V8 60. Apparently they are pretty common in South America in cabs. I don't know who made them, but if you search on U Tube there are some there. Anyway the guy sends me his heads and valve train so I can make drawings of what I need. That's how all of this has happened up to this point. Now I am working on either machining them out of billet in two pieces and welding them together or having castings made. If I have castings made I can only make a few sets for myself because Don will let me use the Ardun name on the valve cover if it is just for me.
Rickomatic- It is going to take some time to do this project. One of the most challenging parts, believe it or not, is the front fenders.
Don- What thread is his under?
IC2- I'm not sure witch way I'm going. I think after I start it will show me the better look.

I am not so worried about a world wide Nuclear War as I believe God wouldn't destroy his creation, but I do pray that we are allowed our hotrods in heaven on earth. Just think, no petrol price rises, no speeding tickets and most important,no crashes.
I too will be following along with this project Ken as I believe your workmanship is outstanding, but don't forget my tudor you are building,I'm looking forward to go cruz'n in it.

Ugh Oh!! That "kid from Missouri's" hot rod mind is running wild again! Ken, I guess you know the LA, Ontario, Pomona, San Bernardino areas have made the most stressful cities list this year. The hot rodders there must thrive on stress. This build may get wild. Just don't give up on the sedan build. I think the sedan has the best "look" of them all. Take care.

Don- Thanks, I read every page, he does really nice work! Did you see that J. Robinson and I did our frames differently but accomplishing the same thing?
Steve- I have been thinking about this thing for a long time, I can't wait to get started.
