What size tires and wheels do you have?

I'm just curious to know what size tires and wheels some of you guys who drive fat fendered rods have. I'm wondering what size tires will look good, and what sizes will fit on the front without hitting the fenders when turning.

Here's what i have in mind so far:

wheels - 6"w in front and 8"w in rear.

    tires- front: 205 or 215 with about a 23" to 24" diameter
    rear: 255 with about a 27" to 28" diameter

    What do you think?

As you may can tell from my pics, my car wont be riding very low.

Take a look at my '36 as mocked up in yellow primer to get a feel for what I'm referring to here.

My fronts are 195-60x14, the rears are 255-70x15. Keep in mind that the aspect ratio, 45,55,60,70, etc, will have an affect on clearance, as will the offset of the wheels. So just because a certain heigth works on one car doesn't mean it will on another unless the wheel specs are the same, and there aren't any sheet metal fitment anomalies.

So, according to my handy tire size calculator...

they are pretty close to what I'm thinking as far as diameter. Is that a 6" wheel on the front?

Yep, 6 front, 8 rear, but that has little to do with the fit except for how it effects the tire sidewall bulge.
