    I've been ripped off!!!!!!!!!

Today the mailman brought me the latest Speedway catalog, one dedicated to T buckets. I started looking through it, and found their "new" Tribute T. I did a double take. If this thing isn't a clone of my old 23, I don't know what is. They even had the gall to paint one black and put two two's on it with backwards scoops! There are so many similarities it is strange, like the way the rear wishbones are done, the lowness of the entire car, the low, slanted windshield, the same gas tank and tail lights.

I think Speedway owes me one of these kits free.......I spoke to my Attorneys, Dewey, Cheatum, and How. They recommend suing the pants off of Speedy Bill, but I like Speedway, so I'm just going to let it pass.

Could it be that Speedy Bill reads stuff on Club Hot Rod???

Do look a lot alike, but of course Speedy Bill just had to one up you with the quickie in the back!!! Hey, come to think of it I know a guy in the complaint/legal department at Speedway, maybe he could do you some good and throw some extra parts your way... his name is U. Ben Haad....

Yeah Pops, you're just another Norm Grabowski, settin' trends. Next will be a TV show with a parking lot attendant driving your ol' car. Although they won't be askin' YOU to borrow a comb.......................

I called them and they suggested I talk to the head of their complaint department U Ben Haad retired. There is a new lady in charge ,I think her name is Helen Waite.............they said "go to Helen Waite ", or something like that.

Seriously, I did think it was funny when I saw it. There are so many similarities, they even mounted a Flaming River Corvair type steering box up on a high pedestal, like mine. If I knew this one was coming in 2011 I would have just waited and saved a whole lot of fabricating and designing!

And Bob, for you information, I DO have a comb...........only it has less teeth than the normal ones.

Don they are calling their version Project 4.999K. I like the color they chose for the rear wheels, reminds me of something!

Yeah, they couldn't build theirs for $ 3K either, Steve!! I can't complain too much, I used some earlier cars for ideas when I built this one, like Cotton Worksman (I think that is his correct last name) who build a T like this back in the 70's. But I still think they should name this one "Tribute to Don's T"...........I like the sound of that one.

I have always admired your car, I think I have told you that many times. When you hit the mark, like you did, It doesn't surprise me at the least. Imitation Is The Highest Form Of Flattery........I'm not so sure of that sometimes
