Thanks again, guys.
Ken, you are right, it usually is something simple. Dan and I were coming home from the Street Rod Nats in Tampa a few weeks ago in my 23 and almost home it started to cut out on I 75. I pulled over and it wouldn't restart. I'm listening to the fuel pump to see if it was running, it was. Started to look at the motor and Dan took off the gas cap and said, "your tank is empty!"We had fueled up, but we got lost coming out of Tampa and it took an hour of back tracking to get onto I75, so we used more fuel than I thought.
There was a call box right there so we put in a call for roadside assistance. An hour later they hadn't shown up, but a nice guy stopped and took Dan to the next exit for gas, and then drove him back to the car. As we were dumping gas in the tank the Road Ranger showed up.
Brad, if you would stay around more than 15 minutes when you come to town, you might have a shot at it.
Whiplash, I know, I've gotten soft from this Florida sunshine. When I lived up north if we got a 60 degree day I would be laying on the lawn, looking up at the sky and thinking it was Springtime.
I put a few more miles on the 27 today. Ran some errands and went to dinner. For some reason the 27 gets way more attention than the 23 did. Every red light someone was talking to me and asking questions. Maybe it was because the 23 had open headers and I could never hear them before.

Don,
Great job. I envy you. Can't wait for the home projects to be finished to get back to work on the 34.

Looks like I am done with the 27, except to have some mild pinstriping done on the headlights and maybe dash. Dan and I hauled his rpu to the upholstery shop last night, and I picked up the 27. I have to say he did a very nice, professional job. I take back all the things I felt in the beginning, and am so happy we found this guy. I'll post some pictures tomorrow when I get some daylight. Not sure what it is about this 27, but at almost every red light I have someone talking to me and asking questions........that happened with the 23, but not as much as with this one. Nice part is, the 27 is quiet enough to be able to converse with the people in the next car......the 23, not so much.
Dans is there for a top, seats, and carpets. It should be done by the time we get back from Turkey Run next week. In typical Dan fashion, he gave the guy a bunch of templates on how he wants the window shapes and positions to be, and had lots of blue tape stuck everywhere with notes about where stuff goes. They spent about an hour talking about what he wants and we left with a good feeling about how it will turn out.
Dan is super nervous about anyone but him drilling holes in the body, such as for snaps, and I told him he should sleep at the guys house and offer free labor when drilling time comes around. The guy had my car all taped up and covered with soft blankets, so I don't think Dan has any worries about any scratches getting on anything.

The way those jerks in DC piss away money it shouldn't be any problem. Nobody should be responsible for their own medical costs right? It's just under a mil: http://www.allegromedical.com/mobili...r-p560811.htmlYour Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Wow once again missed a thread! Don that's super cool. I really like how the windshield looks since you trimmed it down. Also like that it has the original decals still intact. This one looks very nostalgic. Something about the body style with the down curve over the rear axle. Makes it look really old school.
Hopefully you can get one of the boys to take a video of you driving it and post it for us! Everytime some one here completes a car to the roadtrip point, I get more inspired to tackle the truck. Thanks for the updates." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Hey Bob,
Where do you find those things, or are you running P/S. On the other subject; it's only money, our grandchildren's, great grandchildren's, etc.

Don you really did buy a Caddy huh? I saw a pic in another thread, but didn't take it in for whatever reason. you must have gotten a small fortune for your '23and congrats on getting the '27 back on the road. I hope to take my car for a first drive down the street this weekend. I've been waiting on an O ring from Wilwood for my clutch master for two weeks. I first guy I talked to about it went MIA and the second guy thinks he forgot to send it the first time
. I looked a couple places, but can't find one that big..
