steering collum and gear box selections

i have a 47 ford 4-door sedan and it has a steering wheel lock on the collum i have been trying to drill the pin and key hole out and was planning on replaceing the steering sector and collum anyway, so if i were to go to a pretty nice salavage yard what are some good steering collum and sectors setup to look for?

I've got a 46 Tudor that I am going to get started on one of these days, and I am trying to decide what steering setup to go with also. There are adapter plates to mount something like the 525 Chevrolet steering box, and I may go that route, or, if I can find a good stock box and column, I may go that route.

I take it you are going to retain your stock I beam type front end? What drivetrain are you going to run?
