34 Ford - modern manual trans?
I have a original 34 Frame. It will be boxed and modified, but i want to use the original crossframe. Is that possible together with a modern 5 or 6 speed Chevrolet transmission?
Hanging pedals too?

You'll have to modify the center of the X member for just about any later model trans. The pieces that are riveted at the center of the two side members need to be taken out and replaced with something more open. A number of companies (Chassis Engineering, Total Cost Involved, SAC, etc.) make the parts to do this. Maybe someone in your country does too. I've seen a T85 fit this kind of set up, but not sure about the six speeds, or some of the other 5 speeds. At worst you may have to trim away some of the material on the two side members and box them in, then fab the pieces to tie it all together.
When you say "hanging pedals" I'm assuming you mean the pedals hang down from under the dash area rather than coming up through the floor like most people do (similar to stock). You need to keep in mind that the firewall isn't strong enough to take repeated brake and clutch pedal forces. The constant flexing will cause stress fractures. You'll need some form of bracing under the dash area for mounting of the pedal assembly, and make it stout!Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

Thanks!
I'm aware of the need for removing the riveted centre section, but how wide is the manual trans betwen the two rails? I suppose I must move them a little apart from each other anyway.
About hanging pedals, I've already strengthen the area under the dash.
Does someone here have exsperience with the pedal setutp where the booster stays "sideways" under the dash?
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
