Ops. Sorry 'bout that last post, hit the wrong button. I had a straight axle under me old panel. Jus' cuz' it came with a straight axle and the cheapest upgrade to get rid of some lbs. wuz' to throw some coil overs on it. When I visualize a stright axle under the Camaro I just gotta laugh. Oh.... back to the subject at hand.
Correct me if I'm wrong cuz' i sometimes am.... but I think Bob hit the nail on the head. You made your point. Not too many poeple are sold on the straight axle idea, so what. Let it go. You want a straight axle. Most people (me included) don't think it's a good idea, so what. Sooo why not just put a striaght axle under it already and the rest of us will go with the I.F.S. set up and we'll all be happy. Doesn't sound like we're gonna change your mind and if I wuz' a bettin' man I would bet you're not going to convert anybody to straight axle.Last edited by pro70z28; 03-05-2004 at 11:00 AM.

BTW Spray, just to add to the point, here's a pic of a all wood bodied '32 roadster, as are the valve covers, air cleaner, and more of the accessories. This car had accurate body reveals and contours, functioning doors, a real work of art. It used to run around the NW here a decade or so ago, but haven't seen it in a few years.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

If you want to engage in meaningful rod discussion, this is still a good place for that. If you want to pick a fight or crap in someone elses nest...................get lost!!!!!!
Well said and thanks again for putting things in perspective. Your insight and expertise is always a welcome thought here on CHR.
The individuals(trolls...) that seem to degrade a site like ours will move on as they always do but some just take a little longer as the lightbulb doesn't burn quite as bright in those individuals so things seem to take a bit longer to sink in.
Hey, I can't believe its been 3 years already!
Btw Bob, missed seeing you at the Seattle Roadster Show... I was there on Friday, got there when the doors opened and outta there by 2:00pm. I was thinking maybe I'd see the '36 roadster of yours in there Hows that coming along?
SprayTech, I've been wondering how that 4x4 drive shaft was holden out for you It was treated wood, right? Now that one really falls into the category of "Dare To Be Different"

Hey Larry,
Yeah, I kinda spaced on the date of the show. Probably because I was a bit disappointed with the overall low quality of last year's show. The roadster is coming along slowly. It'll be a push to get it done by summer.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Bob,
Yeah, I hear ya about the low quality of the show, its really to bad. I don't think this year was any better either.
Hope ya get it finished for the Good-Guys show at Puyallup. If we can get it running by then , we'll have Brents new Kirkham Cobra at the show. Rich(Rich's Classic Transport Shell Valley) just dropped it off a couple of days ago. What a beauty!! Right now I'm headed over to Brents to help put a spare 390 motor in his pickup and then we'll start working on the motor for the Cobra. Lots of work to do on it first tho. Its only a 390ci(out of the pickup), George, sent Brents ol' 427(in pieces) along with the car so that will have to be put together later on.

Getting closer on this project. What a lot of work!
