The only good thing is the Blue Flame engine which turns over by hand. Are these engine that rare? Going to drain everything and take the engine apart to see if anything is wrong with it. It's too bad that the body is gone.
Hmmm-Well that does sound like an interesting project. I think there is no question that the car is rare and 1953 was the start of an icon in the hot rod/ sports car world. BUT fiberglass that you can poke your finger though in my opinion can not be brought back to life without a miracle. Now that engine is another story and is worth money. Sometimes cars have to be "parts cars" instead of restoration projects due to their deterioration. Sounds like from your description that this may be a "parts car"

i have seen corvettes that were just a total mess come back to life. fiberglass is not like metal. a 53 would never be a trow away in the corvette world. a 1 of 300 would always be worth saving.

Problem the grandson found out that her grandmotherwas trying to get rid of the car and he called a lawyer and said not to come back on his grandmothers property and the car was left to him. Turned out to be a pretty bad scene as we went back to get are tools. Never again.

The French still "owned" Indochina until '54. Truman was gone in '53

Buildup of US forces was when they changed the colors of 2nd Inf Div to 1st Cav and sent them over 2nd half of 65--

There were a limited number of advisors over there beforehand, but the real movement to get involved came with the Texas boys after the Kennedy assasination.

True, but other than the French Resistance, overall resistance was nominal.
