    New Door Concept?

Steve (Roadster32) may already be incorporating this idea, as it seems to have come from over the pond... It's really a pretty neat concept!

The Jatech website tells the story that they visited the major OEM's, and that FoMoCo commissioned them to work on an Explorer concept in their Italy shop. It looks like their copyright is dated 2008, so it has indeed been around a while. As I watched it work I wondered about how it would handle tweaks of a relatively minor collision - seems like it would be much more prone to jamming, and getting it forced open might be a challenge. That said, it looks really, really cool when it pulls up to the curb and the door disappears...
