    screwed again

thought i would show you what 3k and 8 months will get you .
finally went and picked up edwards 37 from flyinghorse upholstery in granbury. the car will have to go to another shop and be completely redone. i've had 4 well know stitchers look at the picks and all agree it cant be saved. the door panels are no where near what was drawn out for him plus he used vinyl and leather which don't match. they were suppose to match the seats. i have never heard so many lame ass excuses in my life.

Shine, I would like to learn from your misfortune.......why did you choose these guys to start with? Were they low bid? Did they show you examples of their "good" work? Did they show you materials? Did they smoke a lot of dope while they were doing the seats? There must be some remedy to get your $$ back that is short of taking a gun to their shop. $3K is a tough amount to take in the shorts......That seat has more wrinkles than a nursing home.

Yes I agree with Mike, that is so sad and surely there must be some sort of recall on them.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

the shop did the 56 big window for me a few years ago. unfortunately the guy who did it no longer works there. the owner is a hack . believe me the owner of this car has what's needed to make life miserable on hm. he will drag his butt into court until he is old and gray. the car will be redone and the shop will get the bill. but then he is so far under he will never pay. but maybe he will no longer be able to screw people around. i just wanted to put this out there to save someone else from falling victim to him. he talks a good game and talks about being a good christian and all. he is far from that. he is just another scamer living off deposits.

What a P----er, Shine, we all hear of these things happening and just pray that it won't ever happen to us but sometimes you get the black bean, huh? Good Luck with getting some/any satisfaction!

Shine, almost every time we involve an outside shop we run into problems, be it upholstery, paint, whatever. It seems anyone who can rent a building can call themselves a professional. That job looks really bad.

Here is what I suggest. Have the job done properly and then get the shop who does the work to write on the involce what necessitated the redo. Send the first guy a certified letter requesting he pay you back, and give him a time limit to respond. (which he probably won't do) Then take the first guy to small claims court and be sure to take lots of pictures (first job and second job) and take your new upholstery guy as an expert witness. Small Claims Court works great for these types of issues and your initial outlay to file is very small. You don't need an Attorney, and the key is to have the expert there so the Judge can get direct testimony, letters won't suffice.

the owner of the car will handle it. he use to own a trailer mfgr plant. big tankers. so he has dealt with law suits for years. believe me he will fry the clown although all he will get is a judgement but maybe the guy will get the hell out of the business.

my collection techniques are a little more involved......... .\/.

That is some of the most pathetic work I have ever seen. It is worse than incompetent.

Wow, can't believe someone would try to pass that off as a pro job. People like that deserve what they get in the end.

    Thumbs down

Shine, I posted or responded to a thresd several months ago about the guy that did my coupe back in 07.

He is located in Round Rock and works out of his home garage. He only works on and finishes one car at a time. You have to get in line , but once you take the car to him it's worked until finished.

It took one week on the coupe and the price was unbeatable.

We need to communicate more on the forum when we get ready to do a major job and possibly save some money. JMO

Good luck in trying to recoop your money.

Good idea, Don, I wonder if there's anyway to get a "Sticky" on the Forum for things like this
so people could find their item or project and see if anyone had posted anything good or bad
that they might be able to us? Just a thought !

Maybe call it "Case Histories or Actual Stories" or something recognizable to a viewer?
