Frustrated Club Hot Rod-Please Help
Well,
I am getting to the point where I do not want to post here anymore. It is frustrating because I enjoy it so much. Basically when I post a reply to someones thread after typing a long dialog, it comes up with an error message from CHR that "I do not have permission for this action. Please refresh your page and log in"
I AM ALREADY LOGGED IN!
You then lose all of your dialog that you typed. I have been forced to copy all of my sentences as 9 times out of 10 it will not let me post it the first (or sometimes 5th) time.
It is super frustrating to take the thought and time to reply to someones thread and have this crazy message that makes no sense. I use to log in once and could post away, since the change I want to throw my keyboard across the room.
Is anyone else experiencing this. I have several computers and it happens on all of them.
I have had whole postes redy to go only to get the same dumb error message. Please help CHR. I miss the ease that the old website gave me.
Don Jr.
PS I hope I can post this and not get an error message, I am logged in right nowDon Jr.

You're preaching to the choir, Son. I was just half way through responding to Hotroddaddy's thread and the site shut down. Took an hour for it to come back up.
I really don't get it either. I am on some big forums and very small forums and they just keep clicking right along with none of this happening. Any more it is a 50/50 shot that you can get on and if you do you may not stay on.
It has at times been said it is our computer not doing something right, but it is very odd because I can immediately go onto one of the other forums and all is well. Oh, and I keep losing my log on too, and have to resign in every time now.

Its weird,Don(s)..cos I hardly ever have a problem, but last week I couldnt get on for near two days,,and UK Steve got on and put up some more pix at the same time I was trying..Messaged him on fb and he told me he just got on..Have lost posts in the past, the same way as you guys, but not for a long time now..Have also, just a day or two back, hit the back button to go to another category on here, and had a broken link type thingie and then couldnt even go back to where I was..Just lately,it only seems to happen at the end of the week..But I think I am having less hassles than you guys.Micah 6:8

Yep, when a weekend is approaching it gets worse for sure, but any more it can happen any day of the week, it seems.

Are you sure it's the site???? Haven't had any of the problems you brought up other then the first couple days after the change...............If the problem was on the site, wouldn't all of us be having the same problem?????Last edited by Dave Severson; 08-27-2011 at 09:33 PM.

Haha, I just went to respond to your post, Dave, and the D*** thing locked up again and I had to close out and come back. It has to be something with the site. I can go to any other site and never have an issue, and can have a problem here and immediately open another site, even if I am getting a message that CHR isn't available
It is very spotty and you never know when it is going to freeze up or not open at all. I can stay on another forum for hours and none of this happens.

Just a thought - I use Word to type my responses/posts and then copy and paste. That way when I get a time out message I haven't lost my work.."Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty." John Basil Barnhil

When you log in, are you checking the box to stay logged in? You may also try deleting your cookies and then log back in.
As of late, I've been struggling with the server a bit as it has taken an update and something goes a little haywire at times...I'm trying to figure out what update it was and back it out if possible.
I know it's not perfect, but I am working to make things right.Brent Mills

On the other side, no problems here - yet.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.

Brent, just so you have some info on what at least I am getting, I do click the box "remember me" so I am logged in all the time. I did the cookie routine. I keep CHR in my favorites and when I click to open it about 50% of the time I get a screen that says "server not found", or words to that effect. I have even tried going into Google, putting in CHR, and clicking on the site from there.........still get the same screen.
Then, when I am on I will click on a topic and it just sits there, won't open that thread. Or sometimes I will type out a post, go to submit it, and it freezes up and won't post it. Same happens when posting pictures, the screen that we use to search will not respond, or if you go back to edit your post it comes up and says "you are not authorized", and yet I am still logged in.
We know you are working hard on these issues, hope the input from all of us helps. The reason I feel it has to be within the site is that of the 5 forums I frequent this is the only one that does those things. One site is one that a guy just runs out of his home, and it just keeps rolling along with no interuptions. Not sure why, but it just does.

I have had the "Lost Post" deal happen to me also. It is usually a crap shoot when I put up pictures. I've figured out to not re-size the window to select pics as it will freeze up! Lost posts after typing it all out is really dis-heartening and frustrating for sure! I did happen to me on the old site once or twice too!
Brent, not trying to hammer you guys! Just trying to maybe help in some way! As always, THANK YOU!

Don and Don Jr - are you using Internet Explorer? I went to Mozilla Firefox a few years ago to try to stop lock ups and lost posts. So far, that has gotten me to a point where the computer freezes on an average of maybe once a month instead of several times a day. I have seldom had a problem here except when someone at the other end pulls the server plug. Like I've said before, the worst I get is "No Packets to Send ......." or it's a bit slow. I'm currently sitting in a heavy rain and wind storm in Upstate NY and the forum loading is actually fast so far today - subject to change once a few more folks decide to turn on their computers.Dave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug
