restored rspears posts.
There appears to have been a problem somewhere along the way that effectively killed "rspears" account and all of his posts and there's no way to get them back under his username.
Just giving you the heads up that posts over the last couple of days will potentially be lost. I do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but still considering the options and will make this a last resort.Brent Mills

Question, you do have active mirrors and sub mirrors of the data base correct? If so you could rebuild from there. Is that your face or did your pants fall down?

Brent,
Thanks for sending me a new password. I cannot understand how this can only have affected my UserName and no one elses. I had full access into the evening Thursday, 12/8 and then this morning I had been logged out, and the system did not recognize my sign in information. On a whim I clicked the "Register" button, and it said that the account name "rspears" was not used, and open to be used. When I attempted to have my account info sent to me, the system said that my e-mail account was not recognized. I hate to see the loss of a couple of days of everyone's posts, but I will admit that it irks me a bit when I click my UserName, go into the profile and it says that I have no posts to review, nor any threads started including my build history. I understand that it may still be in the system, but with an rspears "guest" tag?
I'm not making the call on resetting the data base - it affects lots of other people, as all posts will be lost for a 24 to 48 hour period, but the longer you wait, the more that will be lost. I can live with either way.

Brent,
I cannot believe that the CHR data base singled me out for this purge action, and no one else. Is there any way to search the data base for "guest" status on known members? I went back this morning, and while my build thread is still there, the only way I could get to it was by searching for a term that I knew was in the title, "Followed Me Home, 33 Build", and then I got everything with the words "followed", "home", etc, etc, and it came up as "rspears, guest". When I click my UserName, "rspears", go to the profile and select "show all started threads" or "show all posts" both come up blank.
It appears that I am a no-history "member". My fear here is that there may be others out there who have found their account access blocked as of Friday morning, following the Thursday night data base maintenance that took me out, but that they have simply walked away in frustration. Is there any way that you can verify member status, say Thursday morning, 12/8 compared to now? Just wondering if this might be a bigger problem than it appears?

Randy I'm glad at least your threads weren't purged! I think if you subscribe to each thread with the new log on, it will be easier to find them from now foward." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Yay, after quite a bit of tinkering and digging in, I think I restored most of Roger's stuff without having to restore the entire db.Brent Mills

Brent,
My heart skipped a beat when I hit "Today's Posts" and found myself logged out once again , but the new password worked perfectly, and it appears that everything is now back as it was before "black Friday" when I disappeared, at least as far as I can tell I really appreciate that you invested so much time and effort in this problem, and I hope that the "fix" worked for the others that were affected, too.
Thanks for everything you did, and for your continuing efforts to keep this such a great forum for exchanging ideasRoger

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
