Monster Garage
Did any happen to see the episode last night?
It had the following Dick Dean. Norm Grabowski. Bill Hines. Gene Winfield.
I sure would have loved to be there in person.
All those guys in one place working on a car. It was great!

Thanks to our buddy Al we got a heads up on it. I think it's on again tonight for those that missed it.
In addition to those you listed there was also Fat Jack Robinson and his son, with some help from Hine's son Mike. Thom Taylor was also there for the design part.
Seems like Jesse has to butt heads and demonstrate the alpha male thing with someone in each show...............but not this time!! You could actually see the awe in his face. Those old geezers got a heck of a lot done in a week, especially when you consider that Hine's moves pretty slow at his age (but man, can he move lead!), and Grabowski didn't look to be of much help after tear down (but someone had to keep the guys in stitches! ). You're right, it would have been great to watch in person. I'll bet there wasn't a lot of wasted motion there, just a bunch of "getitdone".

I too noticed that Jesse was a bit quiet about the actual build.
I looked on the web site this AM and took a look at the dash that Jesse had worked on, he had frenched in the skull but on the pics of the final build the french is gone.
I would have paid just to sit and talk with any of those guys! Watching the a**holes and Elbow work going on I bet their shops are the same way. No talk no play just seroius beautiful work!
Best one they have done on the show!

That was the greatest episode ever. I can't believe what those guys did in that short time. I'll never knock the old guys again. And by old, 82 I believe? Anyway did anyone catch the freebee prices. I think something like 1600 for the carb setup? 4 Gs for the rear? I dunno a little inflated no?

Makes for good TV.
Just think what the price tag for getting the guys to come? Do you really think they would come for $3k worth of tools?
They might not have gotten paid for showing up but they probably didn't stay at a Red Rood Inn or eat burgers.
And if someone would bring them together and actually PAY them what would it cost??? Bill Gates might be able to do it

I think that carb was something like $1800!!!!, the total build was i think $23k and change. I don't think that included the finishing work.

That was the best show yet. Sure could tell Jesse was in his glory, he was like a little kid, but then again so would i. I had heard that jesse was getting out of bike building and getting more into hot rods. Some of those builds are pretty dumb, but it's still entertaining. Those geezers sure did'nt waste anytime, down and dirty, but i knew they would'nt get it done just not enough time to get it completed, but they got lots done in 6 days

That was definately a show that can never be topped. Just being able to see several of the all time greatest custom car builders working on the same car is a once in a lifetime event. Did you notice how they got the proportions on it entirely correct, far to many newbie customiser have no sense of proportion."its better to rule in hell, than serve in heaven."

Yupp thanks to Al (i think it was) for posting it yesterday,it was a cool show. I have always thought experiance is the best teacher and the experiance that was in that garage was amazing.....thing that i think is too cool is that most of those guys even said they were self taught.
and the demon carb was $1800 like ta know were they got that price fromSomewhere out on Woordward ave. cruzin!

One thing that hit me about the show was Mr Lead sitting down laying that lead on the hood, he had his big stoggie in his mouth, torch burning, laying liquid lead. He has been doing this before I was born and I'm 49. Where are all of the nah-sayers about the dangers of lead and second hand smoke? That dude has had his face in lead probably everyday of his last 70 years. I am not saying that the stuff might be bad to breath and stuff but it can't be as bad as the greeners say it is. Personally I like the smell of Bondo!

I loved watching the old timers jump right in and get their hands dirty! Beats the He## out of watching Boyd Coddington piss and moan about schedules and argue with his ex-wife over money!

Anyone know of a web site that i could actually see all of jessee james cars? all i know is that that 54 chevy in the autozone commercials is one bad a$$ car. jessee says it is his favorite and we all know he has some bad cars. i have an old lowrider magazine that featured his 66 riviera low rider ( og style with 13 inch wires) that thing is nice!! i would kill for the 54. as of now i've watched that monster garage episode three times an i hope it comes on again. that rumor that he is getting into hot rods more than bikes is very interesting considering he has said that he is turning his bikes more into production type than all individually hand built.
