Forum areas....we missing anything? Any suggestions?

Hey guys, just checking in to see if there's some ideas you all have for forum areas that you think would be useful, fun, etc? We have areas like the build logs and the lounge and FE talk, etc....is there anything you would like to suggest that we add?

I'm not going to add everything just because it's brought up here, BUT, I think we can maybe come to an agreement in this thread for one or more that folks think would benefit the group.

    Let me know.

Maybe a Tech Thread where a quick look to find a specific detail , like building and installing different areas of a build hence , IFS install , Coil over shock install , frame stiffening what works and what don't . The direct pics would help in some places and issues .

Panel replacement , panel repair , videos of the real guys doing it would be great . They can reply back if you get stuck .

When I did my A frame I placed up pics and was given ideas it worked but took some time to understand . Just a thought

We do have a Shop Talk area, would it be worthwhile to break it down a step further and have a separate forum for 'Shop Equipment'? This could include some how-to's on fabbing car pieces and also some shop special tools, shop fixtures, storage solutions, etc. Just wondering. I'm designing my "Rotisserie for Racers and Rodders over 60" and am certainly going to need some input from others on what they've done to make life easier and work better for some of us geezers!!!!!

How about a "Garage" area, where we could discuss planning and outfitting our garage/workshops, heating, electrical solutions, comparisons of hoists, compressors, welding/cutting equipment and so on. Might be interesting to see where everyone works on their cars etc.

I would think keeping it small with out a monetary view , since all are at different median incomes . The simple builds and tricks would help the DIY in his garage practicing for his first rod to be driven . Just a Penney's worth .

If the luxury of top line equipment is there then super . But still most of us work from a 1 or 2 car garage with the basics as was done on the first cars being built . I use floor jacks and stands that get it high in the air . No top end welding equipment and steel I have rounded up to work with .

A well built Hot Rod can be done with out all the cherries and still be first in a crowd .

budget minded options for different aspects of builds.
for instance the alternatives to dynamat.
maybe that idea isnt of importance to many.
but to poor or 1st time builders it can mean the difference between having a rod or not. (namely me)
a hot rod is whatever i decide it is.

What ever happened to Tech's suggestion of a "Technical Repository", the place where one can find the canned answers to questions that continue to pop up from time to time, but are difficult to find via a search - Technical Repository
The referenced thread ended with what seemed to be a new link at the time? Not sure about how to deal with editing, updating, or determining what is worthy and what is not, but it sounded like a great idea at the time.

I think less is more. The simpler the better.. Of all the car forums I visit, I like the format of the HAMB the best. Simple.
