Automotive wiring is a new thing to me and anything will help. I am reading a book right now to further my knowledge. Butdoes anyone have some good websites i can check out and read up on the subject. thank you

Both of my tail lights have gone out and i don't know what to do to try and fix them

I've also had a problem with fuses blowing in the car. Mainly my furze for the dome light and cig lighter. can anyone point me in a good direction her.

tail lite may be simply both bulbs have blown .. cigar lighters are notorious for shorting out .. they get super hot and rust up with age .. its not to hard to replace the unit if you need the lighter .. dome lites usually short out at the door switch as there aint much activity at the light itself .. anything that blows a fuse means you have a hot wire touching bare metal some place
iv`e used up all my sick days at work .. can i call in dead ?

How old is the wiring in the car? Is it original? If these are both yes, then you could be dealing with old age like cracking. Getting yourself a test light would be first on my list. That way you can test to see where you have juice or not.
As far as dome light go, I had a friend who's dome light was running the battery down. I checked every wire in the loom looking for the problem. finally tracing the wire to the dome light itself and found the wire was dry cracked and had the bare spot exposed in the wire was shorting out against the bare steel roof. After pulling the headliner down to check is when I found the problem.
Finding electrical problems is not hard, just takes lots of time and patience.
