    update
    the deal is off
    the kid cant find the title and he never got it in his name anyway.
    and since i aint into commiting a felony via title fraud or jump through a million hoops.
    we told him good luck.
    a hot rod is whatever i decide it is.

    That's a bite! Some states have a search for lost title but that could wind up being a PIA. You might be better off stepping away and find another one somewhere.
