another coupe pickup in the making

another guy on my aussie forum is building a Coupe pickup, he is almost ready to make the mould, he said he has some work to do on a few things including the firewall before it is ready and is putting it out there to see if there would be any interest in these bodies if he were to make them, all bodies would be sold steeled out and ready to paint, at present they are setup to go on an A chassis but if he gets enough interest he may also produce them to suite 32 rails as well.

I quite like the style of these ones.

I wanted to combine the legroom and shape of the coupe with a pickup. My aim is to sell these as a fully steeled out body. As you can see the roof has been chopped, I don't know by how much because I kept lowering it until it looked right but still had headroom with the 4 inch channelling. I have also flush fitted the doors and thickened them to make it easier to fit window mehanisms. I'll also post some steelout photos I've done to give an idea of how I do a steelout. Let me know what you think.

The steel out photos were of a 34 coupe, a 32 Tudor and tourer. Those bodies came out of someone else's molds. I Just wanted to give an idea of what work will be going into the pickup bodies. If I get any interest in these I hope to do a roaster pickup version as well, but I have to prove the pickup will sell to the "financial planner" before I commit to the molds.

My aim is to keep it under 10 grand steeled out. How far under I'm not sure yet. The idea was to supply model a style chassis rails to suit as a package so I haven't considered trying 32 rails under it, but I'm sure they could be made to fit. I'll take some measurements.

I will never go bungee jumping. A rubber breaking may very well be the reason I was born,
it sure as hell isn’t going to be the reason that I die.

    Barnsey,
You may be looking for input from down south, as a US sale would add in quite a bit for shipping? The pickup has the right "look", and the bracing looks to be very well done. I cannot give you a price comparison on a pickup, but a high quallity 3W coupe body, doors & trunk hung, bear claw latches, power windows installed, dash installed, fully braced, etc can be had for under US$7000 (AU$7200). How does that compare to Australia for a coupe?

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
