Ah, yess; the day. I traded my '69 Chevy 4x4 for a '69 Dodge A100 shorty that was lowered (with blocks in the rear and flipped leaves in front (bad deal, that)); had walnut and maple paneling, and gold shag carpet. It drove like a drunk squirrel, but it looked good, sitiin' still.
When we bought our house, we couldn't qualify with two car payments, so we sold the van and kept the '68 Chevelle SS396.

I think one of my girlfriends had a van back in the 60's...... But, as the saying goes, if you remember the 60's you weren't there!!!!!

Too funny!!!!! Kinda miss ny old 70 ford van....had a lot of good times in it.....probably wasn't the safest ride around though, with the flat front nose and drum brakes. Mine had s 170 in it....fully loaded trucks used to beat me from the red light...
I thought I knew a lot, until I had teenagers!

I went thru that too. MIne was an early 60s Econoline with a 289 and C4 stuffed into it. It one of the shortest ownerships and quickest "what was I thinking" period I ever had.

Wish now I had kept the Radir wheels and straight axle though

    .
I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....
