Carolina Customs Hot Rod Parts
So I walked out into the garage this morning, reached under the side of my hood to pull back the release knobs, and to my surprise felt nothing but air at the front latch Since I'm running only the hood top I could easily see with a mirror that both the knob and pin were missing, and that a short awl would let me pull that latch and get the hood off so I could see better. A quick call to Steve DeMarco at Carolina Custom in Clinton, NC told me that the roll pin is a press fit into the latch block, and also got a new pin and knob sent to me in today's mail. Steve wouldn't hear of anything about paying him for the knob, and was very gracious in explaining step by step how to disassemble the latch to get the pin in tight, and then to get the knob secured. It sure is nice to deal with good people who value customer service! And they've got a wide range of custom pieces & parts for street rods, designed and built right!Roger

Well if it was designed and built right... you wouldn't be making phone calls for parts and info!
But it was certainly great to learn that they stood behind the product they sold and did everything to "make it right" !!

Well, we can get into a discussion about what constitutes a good design, but what matters to me is that they stand up for their product without questioning the circumstances, and make it right. They could have just as easily called it as "...out of warranty", or some other excuse, but instead he immediately said, "I'll get you a new pin & knob out today", and then went on to explain exactly how to take it apart, cautioned to watch the internal spring that can fly out, and advised how to do it right. Carolina Custom is the kind of company I do not hesitate to recommend, and one who I will deal with in the future.Roger

Posts like this or good to see, considering there are so many about the rip-off shops and companies who can't even spell customer service!!! Reputable companies who actually take pride in their product and back it up with something besides words in an advertisement seem to be the exception rather then the rule!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

good news travels fast
but bad news goes REALLY fast.
it seems a lot of companies dont realize just how fast word of mouth gets around on the internet.
as an example
just from reading this thread and being somewhat familiar with the OP
i would order from these guys.a hot rod is whatever i decide it is.

I have had similar experiences with Yogi's, Dakota Digital, Stage 8, and Heidt. You don't forget who treated you right. (Didn't intend to be a poet, but so be it!)

I agree, one of the most important topics with a purchase is customer service and backing up the items sold. And it's good to know Steve DeMarco at Carolina Custom in Clinton, NC will stand behind his products.
A "skip" = a dumpster.... but he says it's proper english??? Oh.. Okay. Most of us can see the dating site pun, "matching" with an arsonist.. But a "SKIP? How is that a box? It must all be...
