Meller's "Last" Hoorah - '62 Fairlane
OK, my friend Dan and I managed to get to Pasadena and bring back this '62 Ford for me to ?play? with and even tho it has some issues, I think it will be a fun little car. Lots of stuff to do, including, changing the Cherry Bombs and exhaust dump location to Flow Masters and out the rear. Find the location of the oil leak (hope it's pan related) and get it fixed. Later I want to get AC installed so Sherry will be comfortable in it and that will probably mean installing an electric fan which I ?may? be able to do myself - - - Senior Citizen or not :ay: It also has Dynomat all thru and a very mild cam, which I'm not used to but I'll get used to it. Cold natured Bitch also.
As Dave can attest to, Photobucket is sucking big time so I hope all of this works. I wanted to just post a link but it wouldn't work so here goes pickies. Video will come after I get it reduced some how. L8tr, Em

Man, that is a nice, nice piece (I especially like the 4 speed ?)-you are going to have a great time in that. For a "last hurrah" you done good-makes me miss my 'ole '66 Fairlane (would someone please kick me for ever getting rid of it please?)-Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

Lots of potential there, Emmet, and it looks pretty good as it sits today! What are your plans for it other than the all but mandatory AC for your climate and finding an oil leak?Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Way to go, Emmet! When you said you got a '62 Fairlane I checked out a bunch of pics online to remind myself what it looked like. This looks great! It doesn't seem to need much and has great potential with a few personal touches from you. Good luck with it and I'm looking forward to seeing the fun you have with it.
What motor is in it?
By the way, when you guys talk about being old geezers etc, how old is old? I'm asking since I'm going to be 64 end of this June and I'm starting to feel like I'm outgrowing feeling like a teenager.Nick

Old is merely a literal word, you're only as old as you let yourself be and I'll be 70 in August and I don't feel a day over 30.Ken Thomas

I agree NFTDAY but this last year (71) has taken it's toll - - - - if I can get my eye sight back to 90% or so and the herniated disc minds it's manners then I'm good to go with most things. HRNick, it has a 289 with a mild cam, roller rockers and an HEI but that's about it. I've never had anything except stock with mabye 30 over but nothing that loped and this thing sounds like it's about to die everytime I stop hahahahaha just gotta get used to it I guess - - - I having fun. Oh, I checked the rad and had to add 2 qts of water so I'll have to keep an eye on that for sure. Pulling it and having it rodded and redone wouldn't be a hard thing to do at all. sorry bout the rambling.

Who's rambling?? Glad to see the thread. It's a fine example judging by the pics. I'd agree with the teardrop hood bubble and maybe a different color???
