I found a photo of the 5-cylinder Deutz powered rod, but this dumbass forum software won't let me post it. Go back to my post #12 to see it. I was able to add it on there as an edit.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

As time goes on, there are more and more fans of Diesels out there. Often an area will be more receptive to them. You like them, build one for fun and see if can bring your money and time back.
Big however, if you look at how many hot rod buyers are present in the market, my guess is that 95% or more would not be your prospective buyer. That reduces the market down a bunch, likely futher than I am even guessing. So, while doing one or two and selling them may be possible, I would not hang my hat on making a living building them. Have the fun of doing one, and seeing how it goes.

im putting an 350 olds into a mustang, i say GO WITH IT, or even the smaller frito-lay truck vintage, 4bt cummins.
for those who do not know the 6bt is also known as the pickup truck 12 or 24 valve 5.9 cummins inline 6 that you see in dodge pick-em-ups

Shouldn't that be OATS in a horse? Just be careful about where you step when there's used oats around..................Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

The key to this thread is not the "Do something different!" idea, but what was put forth in the initial post: But of course if it encourages DaveS to drop the Coyote 5.0 with a Kenny Bell huffer into the '57...
then it has served a good purpose.Roger

Different is great sometimes but it depends just how different it is. Take a look at this Lexus powered deuce roadster from New Zealand. Very cool!

If I do get the first one done, I don't know if the second one would be another diesel build or not. It really depends on a lot of things that are unknown right now.Ryan

Interesting idea; I wait and watch for the outcome. First thing I thought: You'll have to make a wider frame with wider axles, and get that engine down in the frame some to keep from turning turtle from the torque every time you poke the loud pedal.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.
