Hot Rod Revue - New Zealand.
Cal Thorley, a mate of mine, and general all-round nice guy, is trying to get funding for his 'Hot Rod Revue' dvd, but is finding it pretty tough going, so he has made an impassioned plea for help.
He's just a young fella, with a young family, and a large mortgage...so yeah; it's tough.
Some of you I know have seen his previous efforts, so if anyone can see their way clear to assist him it would be much appreciated...and rewarded...he's not asking for a free lunch!

I just got an e-mail from Cal, he's posted a link to a trailer of the dvd he hopes to make.
Click on it and check out his work!

Hi everyone.
I know you love spam email so here's one from me. But I've sweetened it up by giving you a video to watch.
As you may have heard, I'm giving a crowd funding campaign a go to see if we can put out a new DVD. That means I need a hell of a lot of help!
What is crowd funding?
Well, it's where you nominate a funding goal and try to entice good folk like you to 'back' the project. Backers get 'rewards' which in my
case means advance copies of the new DVD, as well as DVD combos, t shirts, and the big one: your name in the credits! Smooth.
There is a BIG catch though. If the project doesn't reach it's funding target in a few weeks time, it does NOT happen. I even wrote that in capitals. So no one gets
charged and the DVD does not get made.
That would be awful, how can I help I hear you ask?
There are two ways, both equally important.
Buy a DVD.
Or 30. All you need is a couple of minutes and a credit card. It's even easier if you have a Facebook account as you can login using that and not have to 'sign in'
Here's the link to the pledgeme.co.nz funding page: https://www.pledgeme.co.nz/958
Pledgeme is a legit site with full security for your purchase. It's already funded hundreds of creative NZ projects.
Pass this email on!
The more people that hear about this before the deadline is up, the more chance that the DVD will get made. Your club mates will love you for it!
I'll also accept Facebook plugging. No seriously, your help is hugely appreciated.
S'pose you'd like to see what I'm on about? Here's the video I promised you:
https://vimeo.com/63997026
Your funding will allow me to shoot the 5 remaining features I want to add and then finish, duplicate, and ship the DVD.
The DVD will be around the 2 hour mark and to be honest, is looking a whole lot cooler than any car DVD or TV show I've made before it.
Thanks a lot for the support. I'll need every bit!
Cheers,
Cal
Hot Rod Revue.

Yeeha!
Cal has reached his target of $6,000 pledged, so his dvd will now be able to be made!
Altogether he has already invested about $20,000 of his own money, but needed just that bit more in order to be able to make it a reality.
All good...pleased for ya Cal!
So keep an eye out in your video stores for Cal Thorley's N Z Hot Rod Revue!
And if, when it's completed, he posts up an address for mail-orders for it, I'll post that up here too.
