The back side of the TRam is flat all the way up to the bolt on top. It is exactly 2 1/4" from the center of the dizzy hole to the back edge of the TRam. 4 1/2" might just make it if there are no clips sticking out.... No need for vacuum adv. I cant find any measurements on line so short of actually calling the MFG. and asking them to measure them we are out of luck. Mallory unilite, center of cap to ouside edge is 2 inches......

I need the diameter of the widest part of the distributor, Im thinking the cap fits over the edge of the housing so the cap should be the widest right? Thanks for the offer its appreciated

I have a mallory cap and it measures 3 9/16ths, except for the bolt-down ears. the cap is larger that the distr body/housing.

Yes that is the widest part, other thatn the clips which would at a 90 degrees from the manifold rise.

The distributor doesn't care which terminal is designated as #1 so you should be able to bias the hold down ears to be angled away from the firewall if you need to.
