I think that maybe these came from Alan Johnson---This is a rear main from Cruz Pedregon car-----
I have bored out individual mains and had crank journal turned to fit some other bearing on some exotic deals that were too $$$$$to replace but too good to throw away---thats what the progressive size chart areas of bearing cataloques are good for--for example, i think i did a 400sbc bearing into a Mercedes something or other for a few hundred dollars when a new block and crank were thousands and not available-----

540 6 lycoming i just about fell over on the price of the mains for one of them things . i have a spray welder not to far from the shop that i have has back up if ones hurt bad were the crank can not go up any more . the deal fell threw on the 260 berco crank grinder so there allmost no one i trust to grind a crank under size for a hybird main or custom size rod on just my numbers . but with the line bore and crank grinder in shop my head was spining of all them big 3+ mains that were going to get cut down but not all is lost i have rods covered most every thing i need ..and a pin bore machine....... maded up bushing and save some rods and sleeved and welder many blocks /heads.nice to have the machines to make things when they can not be had only part of the job i likeLast edited by pat mccarthy; 06-29-2013 at 06:45 PM.
