Outbound
We drove to Oklahoma to day, met with Tim, decided what to do (with Wesley Smith's advice) and left it sitting there. We're going with some black with dark reddish brown accents. Tim's going to pull the black tuck & roll seatcovers and sew in the reddish brown pleats. I'm looking at two to 3 weeks for a return trip to pick it up. Tim did say that he would send progress photographs.
This is the only image I have so far - sitting in Mickey D's parking lot somewhere in the Oklahoma hinterlands. I absolutely hate dolly towing, but my Escape won't take anything large.

Thanks for the heads up, Don. I'm really anxious to see some photos.
Wes and Tim worked out the color scheme. The only thing I had to do with it was to say "OK, go!"

Man too bad you cant tow something a bit larger. I have a 18ft roll back with a winch that tows like a feather, and would be happy to let you use it.
I don't even have a truck that will tow it anymore.Fabricator @ Hot Rods by George

I appreciate the offer, but the Escape wouldn't handle it. It has 240 HP, but handling and braking are dicey enough with just the dolly. Side note: I had forgotten how freakin' noisy U-Haul trailers are - especially empty.Jack

Jack,
Just a thought, but we sometimes rent a vehicle for a day, a weekend or a week if we have a special need, like needing to haul around six adults in relative comfort or wanting a high mileage car for a longer trip. Some of the companies have pickups, and our local Ford dealer also rents F150/250 trucks by the day, week, month.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
