breakfast parkup-tauranga- new zealand
one of our nz magazines (petrolhead)sponsors a breakfast on the first sunday of each month at locations all around new zealand both north an south island.this is my first time to one and i chose tauranga as our closest plus my wife wanted to go shopping over there so i never really had any choice
great trip over and got there as it started, had a great breakfast ($15 and all you can eat buffet) and catchup with people and then left as others were still arriving.
it was always going to be fairly quiet as most rodders from this neck of the woods were at the nostalgia drags up auckland way which is very popular and also run by a local tauranga club

this old chev pickumup was my pick of what i saw!
and a young fella rocked up in this late 70's falcon panel van. these were made in australia and most of them rusted away as the surfies got hold of them
and they didn't handle the sea air too well as well as the fact that most australian cars of that era were suscepable to rust ie the holdens and valiants

Thanks Again Mark. The Falcon panel is certainly different for us on this side of the pond. And that was an excellent example.
I am always amazed at the quantity (and quality) of american vehicles "over there"....

Dave,,I wouldn't mind finding one myself..Most of them are either rebuilt with a ridiculous price tag on it,,or a real doomer,,and hardly fit for rebuild.. There are a few out there still cruising,,a born natural for a 351C conversion,,as the Falcon GT's had it anyway.. Still lots of them in Aussie though..Micah 6:8

I agree with you Mark, the old Chevy truck has that certain aged look and the right profile that looks so right. Thanks for posting the photo's too. Hope your good lady shouted you a nice lunch after all the shopping too....I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.
