An active week...........
........of hot rod stuff.
Last Friday evening said good bye to the the ol' 30 hiboy.
The upholstery work on the '36 roadster is progressing, floor insulation, seat foam and backing panels cut........wish it would go faster, but should have covered seats and carpet by mid next week, then on to side panels and finally the top.
And then spent most of the week bashin' on the beater. It probably doesn't look much different, but put on new tires after painting the wheels, got some better hubcaps, gave it a buff without making it too shiny, and the biggest visual, new running board covers. All ready to head to Good guys tomorrow.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

So Uncle Bob, do you have a empty spot in the garage now permanently ? You could always look around for another project to fill the void. I do like the Sedan too so can we have more photo's of it please. The '36 is looking so cool, I'm envious . Thanks for the update and enjoy the Good guys event.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Bob, do you still have the A roadster with the Oliver? grill? If so, how is it coming along?

Great work. Your interior is looking great! I bet it was hard to watch your hi-boy be loaded up, and then be hauled away.Ryan

Yeah, it was a bit tough to let go of the '30 hiboy, but I had a couple weeks to get my mind wrapped around the idea. It was actually harder to make the decision to post up the ad.
No empty slots to speak of. I've still got 4 toy cars plus the two daily drivers and effectively a 6 car garage. Plus right now I've got a '32 Model B chassis waiting for Mike (robot) to come up and whisk away. So it's actually a bit cramped. I've also got a couple piles of excess parts that I'm slowly chipping away at selling. This is the slow time of year for parts sales in general (any who follow ebay might have noticed how many "free" listing promos they run this time of year). Granted the '32 sedan is taking up two stalls for now, but as soon as I drop the body back on the chassis next to it that'll give a spot for the '39 to move to and the '36 will take the spot cleared. When Mike finally gets his chassis out I'll gain back a little working room.
The sedan pics below are just a few additional features. The car is pretty much a restored car with body issues.
No Jack, that whole concept has morphed. The '32 chassis that was under it went in a trade early last year to a guy in Puyallup for the '41 pickup I tooled around in last year. That sold about 3 months ago. The Oliver grille went to a lad in Texas. The roadster body is now on a model A chassis that's becoming an early '40s style banger gow job (in background of pic below). That should get some time this coming winter.Last edited by Bob Parmenter; 07-25-2014 at 09:03 PM.

Sweet '39! I had a '39 tudor that I got when I was fourteen. My dad and I built it to be ready to roll when I was sixteen. Ran it with the smoking flathead for about 6 months then swapped in a 283 Chevy with the stock trans & banjo rear. I twisted off a couple of those axles! LOL! Then we put in a 302/C4/9" before I wrapped it around a tree in drunken college stupor! Argh!! At least I lived and the same 302/9" still lives in my current '37.
Sorry for the memory lane hi-jack, Uncle Bob! Anxious to see more pics of the '36."It is not much good thinking of a thing unless you think it out." - H.G. Wells

Memories drive a lot of what we do with this junk Randy, no problem.
'36 pics will come as sufficient photo worthy progress occurs (never fast enough eh?).Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Sounds like plenty of projects to keep spaces and time filled to the brim. That's what keeps us young, right.
