Tried the link and does not work, even when I'm signed in to facebook. Sorry. I think he has enough work where he wouldn't want to take time with my little request but one never knows.

With John Stewart driving one of the original 8 Cragar 5 Second club------the order listed in the NHRA and books isn't correct order as they have them alphabetical from the Ontario race. I think we were actually 5 th--
There was a harmonic vibration induced tubing bending in the main wing struts-I solved it by placing a balsa wood dowel rod inside the chrmolgy tube to dampen the vibes-------Front wheel pants had low pressure inside them at speed and would suck the air out off front tire valve stems-we solved that by using air craft valve cores with more spring to offset the centrifugal force that caused them to open.

Yep Tech--back then , besides the spark plug wires, there was only a short piece of #12 wire from the mag to a toggle switch for grounding the mag to kill the ignition.

Still looking, a lot of late model car wings, not too many actual race car wings. I'm sure i will find one. Learning a lot from Jerry's replies on a 5 second machine. Thanks Jerry. Also great pics too. With the angle of that wing, it must create a huge downforce at those speeds.

The angle wasn't like it looks from the picture angle-------but we did gain downforce-enough to run in the 5 second zone where our other car without (altho it held 14 track records, the NHRA national rcord, and the fastest drag race ever(at the time))))
So I'm getting the idea that you are just looking for one of the modern sportie cars airfoil? about 2 inches off deck lid?

No, not at all. Want a wing on struts. Think I found one at the Chassis Shop. It's a front wing that's the perfect size (40"x10") that wouldn't overwhelm the looks of the car. Also, I could mount it on struts connected to the trunk so it would raise and lower with the lid. The lid is steel with steel channel welded on for total support. Plenty strong. Sent an e-mail to them, keep you posted on what they say.

Update - Called the Chassis Shop, also Pro-Werks is basically the same company. They informed me that their guy who made the wings left and they were trying to train someone new. No wings in stock. Kept surfing the internet and found Neil Parks Racing. Called and talked with Scott. They had both 8" and 12", 41" long in stock. Ordered a 12" one. Scott was very knowledgeable. Ordered the hardware for my design with ART (Applied Racing Technology). I think my crazy idea is going to work. Thanks for your help. I will follow up with a couple of pics when I'm finished. Here's a mockup in posterboard.
