1929 Whippet?
This weekend when I was out helping my farmer friend, I ran across a little treasure I figured you guys would like. This is a pretty good barn find, but too bad it isn't for sale. It has been setting on blocks for over 20 years. The husband put it on blocks, removed the carb to have it rebuilt, and then he passed away. No one has touched it since. The carb is in the car too. I will keep tabs on it. It's a shame to find this stuff and then to hear it will be passed down to someone that has no care for these. Who knows, it may be sold in an estate auction. You never know. Here are a couple of bad pics. I think it is a 1929 by pics on the net, but I am not certain of that.Ryan

I've been itching for a 27-32 something for quite some time. I built a 27t roadster with a 6.9 IDI and a 671 blower, but sold it. Then I had the sport coupe shell, and sold it. I almost had a 32 glass coupe with a new frame but I backed out. The guy was shady. Someday, someday. HahaRyan

I will throw a spanner in the works and say I would restore that baby as it is so complete and whole. I wonder, ( yeah I could goggle it ) how of that model were manufactured that year as to know it's rarity.
Okay, looking at the those pictures again I can see how three to four inches out of the pillars would help and several inches lower to the ground also would improve it and yeah, a bigger engine transmission diff combination would help too, Damn, what a problem to have.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

My friend said the family thinks it isn't of much value because the whippet were pretty common. I didn't say a word other than, do you think she'd sell it? Haha He's going to ask. Shoot, I'd leave it original as much as I could if she'd agree to let it go. You just don't see them like this anymore. Well, not around here anyway. It would fit in great at a Missouri man's collection that will be part of a museum when he passes. It's a long shot that she'll sell it outside the family though.Ryan

I agree. That one is a candidate for restoration but that kind of work is out of my league.
