Now for all the legal stuff. I've had the title all winter and we thought we'd getting it licensed yesterday and when I looked at the tile with 3 names signed to it .The son, Mom and Husband ( now deceased ) it I knew it wasn't gonna fly and I was right. I think this is how it went. The parents signed it to their son but he never licensed it in his name or the title transfered and then it got signed off to me. I gave the title back and they have to get all that straightened out before I can do anything. I wish I did this months ago, but the good news is I know the sellers well and the ladies at the DMV are very nice and sometimes bend the rules to make things easier for us.

Yeah, I hope it works out for you, too.

Around here, they want every I dotted and every T crossed twice! When I got the title on my 46, I had a list of title requirements on Louisiana State letterhead from the DMV in Baton Rouge. I presented the list to the local tag office with the required documents. They said the list was wrong and refused to process my title papers! I had to take them to Baton Rouge where they were processed with no problems.

Bureaucrats, don't you just love them? That's a case of the right hand either not knowing what the left hand is doing or doesn't know that it exists. And the sad part is that they are government employees that think we work for them instead of the other way around.

    Ain't that the truth!
You sure dribbled a bib full there Ken!
A democratic government should be: of the people. by the people, for the people.
Employees of the government are 'civil servants', ie servants of the civilians in that they work for the good of the general population.
Sadly that seems to have been forgotten.
If it's any consolation to you though mate you lot don't have it on your own. It's universal throughout government departments the world over.

(Please don't ask me how I know this; suffice to say that we're trying to build a new house/shed adjacent to a State Highway...sob!)

I can imagine the hoops that you're having to jump through in order to please some pompous over zealous bureaucrat. And the sad thing is that you can't get rid of the pricks.

That's a bad deal but at least they are still alive. All they have to do is go to their court house or licensing place and request a duplicate title. Make sure it gets signed right this time.

I'm nervous now. I may need to go do mine...

We finally got the title for the Camaro, I think we're still friends but I was hounding him pretty hard for the last few weeks to get things fixed, he knew I was sick of it. The DMV was no problem at all, the people there are great. They are so nice there that if your having a bad day, you'll leave there in a good mood, they really are that nice. In the mean time we swapped the rearend to a 3.73 Posi ( not that traction is a problem ) and put in a 700r4, got rid of the factory cat converter. It's still no power house but at least the speedometer moves when you floor it now instead of the engine just making more noise. I had to put a carb kit in it because it was running so bad at idle the A/C would kill it. It's much better now and getting close to a daily driver for Christian.

What? You didn't jump right into a Fitech for it? Nice to hear you got the title for it. That has to be a relief!

ha, no Fitech yet, we're going to cripple the 305 along for awhile with out doing too much to it. It'll be a lot cheaper for me if i wait a couple years and hand it over to Christian and let him spend the money to make it act like a Camaro lol

We took the Z28 on an hour trip east of here to watch some crazy bastards running figure 8 races on a dry track, it's always a pretty good show. Christian looked pretty happy driving with the T tops out, then on the way home we stopped at Mc Donald's. When we walked to the car it was just like it was 1986 again

Very cool! That last pic does bring back memories for me. Although I wasn't in high school in the 80s, the 80s cars were really popular. A lot of my friends had Irocs, T/A's and Monte SS's. My boss's son had a 83 Crossfire 305 Camaro that Russ dumped $20k in so his kid could destroy it all the time. The only cool thing besides the gauges on that car stock was the functional hood scoop IMO. When it was running good, it did run hard. Supposedly the engine made 450hp on the builder's dyno back then but who really knows.
