    C-4

Need a new C-4 transmission for my duece. Can anyone recommend a company they have used as I am a rookie at this. Very mild 302 motor. Around here a rebuild is just as much.

    Thanks in advance
    Jack

Hi Jack. Unless you get extremely lucky and find a NOS (New Old Stock) unit sitting on a shelf somewhere and are willing to pay a BUNCH of money for it you are not going to find a NEW C4. Even if you did find a new one on that proverbial shelf, chances are it will probably have been sitting for so long that it will need to be dissembled to replace dried out seals and gaskets.

Any C4 you get is going to be a rebuilt even from companies like B&M, TCI etc.

You might want to look at the comments on this thread from a couple of days ago.

    Suggestion for 4l60e

It's got some pretty good discussion of transmission sources /services.

Thanks. Looks like I will have to just that as I just went out to back out the car and reverse is gone. Can't even push it backwards out of the garage. No clue what happened but it didn't feel right after the drive yesterday.

I should be able to push it out backwards, shouldn't I

Provided the E brake is off.

If the linkage got damaged, or the spring for the parking pawl broke so it won't retract.
Other than that I'd say it should roll.

You might have to pull the driveshaft out to roll it.
