    40 Ford tire sizes

Guys I'm having issues with tire size (mostly in my head ) My 40 Ford p/u is in need of tires and wheels all round . I want tires that will fit but want them to be as large as I can get under the fenders. I have air ride on all 4 corners, dropped 2" spindles on front.
I guess my question to you 40 owners is what size tires are you running ?
    thanks

On mine, these pics are all mock up. I have wider rear fenders, but the front should be close to yours. I have MII with 5/8" narrower control arms. My front tires are 205/65R15 with 15x7 wheels. The rear tires are 255/50R17 with 17x9 wheels. The first couple of pics have the front wheels in the rear fender. I didn't have the rear wheels when I started doing mock up. Larger tires might fit up front, I'm not sure. I used the link in my signature to find tire dimensions and I measured to see what might work and fit nicely.

If you want a different wheel size but similar look.
    Fronts are 205/70/14
    Rears are 235/70/15

I got to ride in one at the EAA years ago. One resides in a hanger down from our shop at work. I love hearing it fire up to taxi out and then listen for it to take off.
