The S-10 looks like a good find, Seth, should work out well for your project Dodge! How's life in Doon these days? Hope everyone down that way is getting dried out and ready for summer! We do need to get together someplace this summer, the circle burner track in Hartford, SD will be reopening next month, perhaps you like to meet there some Friday night and enjoy some good sprint car racing, or maybe meet up and go to Jackson, Mn. with us to watch some racing there? I don't go every weekend like I used to, old age seems to have had an effect on that, too!! I tell you, this getting old crap sure as hell ain't for sissies!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dave, Nothing too special in Doon, just wet like everyone else. I'd love to meet up with you in Jackson or Hartford. Me and Christian were going to go to Jackson last year but never made it.Seth

Not much progress on the Dodges but I seem to be gathering too many parts for them. On the Cruise to the Woods I was talking to a guy about his IH pickup he had and I mentioned my Dodge collection and my plans for a frame donor. He said he had a 2wd Dakota with a 318 Magnum that he wanted to get rid of cheap and of course that got me interested so I said I'd like to check it out. While we were talking it came up that he was looking for a 50's sun visor for his car and guess who has one of them? I do! It came with the 48 Dodge and doesn't fit. He finally got back to me today about the pickup, he put a new starter on the Dakota and it runs great. He asked if $100 for the starter and the visor in trade for the pickup sounded fair, and I think it does. 2wd V8 Dakotas are near non existent by me so it so I better jump on it. So right now I got a running S-10 V6 4x4 frame, a 2wd S-10 frame I picked up for $50 and now a Dakota donor pickup, and 3 Dodges that could get back on the road and 0 time All I know is the Dakota frame is going under the one I'm going to keep.He is possibly driving the Dakota down this Saturday.Last edited by 53 Chevy5; 10-22-2019 at 09:18 PM.

I think I got a pretty good deal on it!. It does have 200,000 k on it so I'm sure most going to need a freshening up or a rebuild but I doubt I'm going to find a 25 yr old 70k Dakota for 500 bucks that still won't need some work.Seth

Nothing wrong with a 318; lots of potential:

That's kind of where I am now days, too. I love building cars but I'm just as happy with having a good running stock engine in them as building a fast one. Certainly easier on the budget.1 Corinthians 1:27
