Thread: The coolest salad bar in Des Moines, IA

Yesterday was my wife's birthday and we went to a restaurant shes always wanted to eat at but never has. Its just down from the court house on Court Ave in Des Moines and is a very nice old building. We walk in the door and I see an old truck. It's a 1916-25 Republic truck that holds their salad bar. How awesome! On top of that half way through the meal I hear a very faint squeaking. I look up and all the ceiling fans are driven by leather belts! Mike, I first thought of you! How cool are these things! People were looking at me taking pictures like I had a screw loose. I suppose I do haha

That's a pretty cool setup I'd say. So when you going back? LOL....

I'm putting that address in my GPS for next year when I go back to Illinois (I drive Des Moines both ways) !!!!

I'd ask how the food was but I DON'T CARE

Mike, I'll buy your dinner when you come through. The food was great. I probably don't need to make it a regular spot but easily could. I don't need anymore carbs if ya know what I mean.
