    I was so close to a Strat style body, and a neck
    with Medium frets on Rosewood, GOTOH Hardware,
    DiMarzio // Seymour Duncan in H S S layout.
    Very close.

    The Strat HM was a BIG step.
    I can't say I designed it or assembled it.

    Now I need to brush up and re learn how to get my little
    finger to do what my mind is telling it to do!!

    Thank You For The Assist, 34_40!!

    Maybe next year or sometime in the near future I will
    go through with it. I am thinking about getting some basic
    items I should have gotten years ago.
    The neck curve // arch size tools and the straight edge with all the do dad marks should be in any guitar tool box.

    34_40
    I would encourage you to go through with.
    You have more patience than I have.
    Full On Custom and color match you Hot Rod!!

    More patience? idk 'bout that. LOL I think I'd assemble it as they intended at first. If the wood is as nice as the pic, I'll just clear it.

    Play 10 minutes a day for a week, concentrate on sounding the notes with the least amount of pressure, at the end of the week your finger tips should start to desensitize and the pain will go away. Once your finger tips desensitize bump your practice time up to 20 minutes a day, you'll see callouses start to form on your finger tips.

    If it still hurts after the above, check your guitar's action (it may be a little high) and string gauge (may be to heavy a gauge). There is no shame in using light gauge strings. Stevie Ray used heavy string gauge but tuned down a step which makes the heavy gauge play easier.

    When you get past the finger pain and your guitar is adjusted (set up) to your liking, start practicing 30 minutes a day, you will not believe how much of a difference that extra 10 minutes does. The more you play the better you'll get quickly.

    Next, check around your area and find some guys to play with, it's the most fun you can have with your pants on!

    ENJOY!

    Warmoth makes some nice looking guitar necks and bodies too. I've been tempted by them. They are not cheap though. You could buy a nice guitar on craigslist for less but you don't get the custom aspect you would building your own.

    I've been a fan of Warmoth for years. And for a first effort I thought I'd run with a "budget" type of build. If I enjoy the experience, then maybe move up as it were and go with some Warmoth products. I have been pouring over C-list and FB Marketplace as well as ebay and it becomes cloudy to decide between someones cast off or just get a complete kit as a first time build. As far as I can see the money is really equal in regards to a total spent. I'd love a real deal USA Tele, but I want it my way. so I'lll still have to do a bit of customizing which further drives up the cost. 8-(

    Here's a trick some of you may not know;
    Scales can be adjusted, the minor scale pattern can be converted to the major (in the same key) by simply moving the pattern down 3 steps.
    And the same goes for the major scale, its pattern can be converted to the minor (in the same key) by moving the pattern up 3 steps.

    Now you know B.B. Kings secret!

    (hint, other modes can be done the same way)

    Here is another trick that will add considerable flavor (color) to your basic Minor Pentatonic scale playing. I've added this as an image so you don't have to download (the PDF is a better resolution);
