Old member check-in
Hello all! Most probably don't remember me, although I've lurked here for a long time, just didn't have much to share.
I finally completed my project (and finally have something to share, but are they ever really done?)-
Anyway, here is my '35 Ford 5 window-many here helped me along the way, and I would like to extend a huge thank you for all of your help-I bought this car as a rusted, smashed in roof carcass (the bottom 1/3 was rusted out, I put in new floors, trunk, firewall, etc.)
It was an 18 year project, partly due to my job, but I retired two years ago and was able to work on it full time.
It's powered by a 540 BBC, 4L80E trans, 9"(w/Strange internals), Heidt's and a bunch of other stuff you probably don't want to know about-
Anyway, you were always a goid bunch of guys and made me feel comfortable, so I thought I'd show you my baby-I get asked all the time what it is, so I got a personalized plate that says "WUTZAT"-Last edited by 35WINDOW; 10-23-2020 at 10:14 PM.
Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

Looks fantastic - love those velocity stacks and the great blend you have of old and new. Really a class job and good to have you posting again.

Thanks so much everyone, for the positive comments and the likes it really means a lot to me. The Car turned out better than I ever thought it would, and so far I've put on about 400 hundred trouble-free miles (other than few adjustments to the Hilborn)-it is a driver, and makes 850 hp (I've gone to 3/4 throttle and it's scary)-
I built it to be a part of the local Car scene. Surprisingly, I've taken it to 3 local shows and came away with 2 best of show and one best engine, which has been humbling and a source of amusement as my Wife calls it "the other Woman"-Last edited by 35WINDOW; 10-24-2020 at 08:34 AM.

The car came out great, there's no time limit on projects so I'd say you finished it up right on schedule! The old and new with the Hilborn's is really nice, congrats on a drop dead gorgeous car!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Forget sunglasses, wear a welding hood when driving on a clear day!.
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.
