keg gas tanks
i was wondering if anyone had any pictures or helpfull ideas on building a gas tank out of a keg. is it street legal to have a keg as a gas tank. any help on the matter would be great

i can tell you that speedway motors sells them, as does moon. as for building one, most people start with sheet steel or aluminum cut to size, then rolled. they then weld the seams, tig is best, mig works well as does gas, but dont arc weld as you will likely blow holes in the sheet metal. then the ends are formed generally using tabs to locate the end, and then welded in place. just remember before welding the second end in place to cut the opening for the filler neck so that when you weld the end in air pressure doesnt build up and bust the tank in your face. you can get filler necks, or make one as you choose just use the same marterial as the tank. for a sending unit, use a universal sending unit and install it as per the manufacturers instructions.a man's fate is a man's fate

And when your done with it, you can clean out the gas tank and have a party! Actually, i wonder what a cop would say if you had a visible keg for a gas tank. "Seriously officer, thats my Fuel tank! Uh-HUh. Well, do you want a drink from it?"Right engine, Wrong Wheels
