I think it's Hemi spelled wrong. That little rascal dude was Hymie.

It's not easy to ignore Heimi's question is it guys?

I would say "It's a guy thing," but it is clear that gals can be infected too. I think it is self expression, satisfaction from building something, satisfaction from having something unique, the attention they garner from other hot rodders and other people in general. For some it is one-up-manship, for others it is pure art. Why do people paint, carve statues, write songs, books or poetry?

Then there is the rush from extreme G-forces be it from acceleration (the best!), cornering or braking. Something about the roar and getting slammed back in your seat... I guess you have to experience it

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

    WHY HOT RODS?

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO ANSWERED MY QUESTION, WHY PEOPLE BUILD HOT RODS. I'M DOING RESEARCH FOR A COLLEGE PAPER AND NEEDED SOME "REAL" INFORMATION. I KNOW THERE IS NO OTHER ROD THAN A HOT ROD, I'VE SEEN MY SHARE. I JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHAT YOU ALL THOUGHT.

    AND YES IT IS "HEIMI"

    THANKS AGAIN.
