If I'm not mistaken, the Hemi used the 426 wedge block, which is the same as a 440 block, except slightly different inner dimensions. Anyways, a 440 is easy enough to find and Hemi heads shouldn't be that difficult either. When you're done, you'll have a Hemi, but you'll have 14 cubes on the guy running a Hemi next to you and he'll never know until you get to the other end of the strip. Chrysler also sells a 500 cube wedge that might accept the hemi head transplant. If the heads don't bolt on (with a few other changes of course), there are hemi heads for wedge motors that cost less than trying to get an original.

Thanks guys; Kurt I'll get in touch with those boys, since the car's in Vegas that would be a good fit.
Matt, call them and ask how soon they'll ship. When the laughing stops they'll tell you they don't have any and can't get any until Mother Mopar goes back into production. After about the 8th or 10th one of these dealers I called in response to their current ads I started asking why they advertise something they don't have and can't get. Most of them mumbled something about b.s, b.s., b.s............... As a marketing guy I'm astonished at how stupid this is. It sets unrealistic expectations that only serve to tick off a prospective customer when not met.
But, there's always a way to win, just gotta keep at it.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

A big thanks to all of you who attempted to help in our quest!! An extra thanks to Bart who as recently as last week sent me an email lead.
The search has ended. Persistence pays!! Got a period correct (early heads and matching valve covers along with the correct manifold and carbs) engine. While I wasn't that committed to having the correct parts, it is a clone afterall, it is a nice bonus. So that much is done. Now the slow process of getting the rest of the little pieces needed, and then finding time to head to Vegas and get the body, paint, and suspension work done.
Will the insanity ever stop!?!?Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
