I've been using HVLP guns for about 7 or 8 years now, wouldn't go back to a conventional. It does take a bit of practice and gun adjustment to get them to work right...

If you spraygun is spitting....thin the paint a little more, and turn the air pressure up some more.

When spraying metallic paint make sure the paint is mixed well in the can
before you move some of it into the mixing container. When spraying the paint, shake the gun vigoursly evry 20 seconds or so to keep the metal flakes suspended, and evenly floating in the paint.

Metalic paint will sag more than regular paint, so do not get the coats on too thick, or you will find out the hard way. Don't ask me how I know this.

Jeeze I wonder Daver! Nice looking metalflake on your sedan.

I will finish covering my new console today and hopefully get it installed. New rocker moldings to put on.

Know what ya mean, Shawn. I've got 3 in the sanding stage now. Two in the cut and buff and one in the block sand prior to paint. I'm looking forward to getting them all done and out of the shop and back to some fabricating!!!!!

well i worked all day tuning my chevy 327 powered short wide. gonna be a nice lil truck. working on making the rear mounted fuel tank fill by folding out the drivers side rear tail light. kinda like the 56 chevy cars did. its a rough one but it improves everytime i work on it..more about the truck..
it has digital dash, B&M megashifted turbo 350, motor is 68' it is the block that can be 302,327 or 350 according to the how to rebuild your small block book. it has headers, edebrock performer carb and manifold, flow masters, and 4:11 posi rearend.
just finished complete brake job, working on finishing the wiring and then gonna paint it flat black farm equipment paint.
it will look like primer but last until I can finish the body work.
Im also trying to get the Harley running and start on my 52 GMC 5 window short bed.

I know how you feel shawnlee, I don't think I would care to be a painter for a living.

I would like to see a pic of that opening tail light twoblularry, sounds cool.

I have the new console in and now I just have to move the shifter back to for the taller seats and put a boot on it. Next a new newport wiper motor to put in and then into the stereo build.

Brick that console looks great . Did it fit or did you have to mod it in . Sure looks like it was made for the chev .

I finally did the mock on rear cross member . I think i'll have plenty of rear end to frame clearence for bounce . Then off to gussett everthing and solid weld it in .

Brick, that console and the rest of the interior is really looking great!!!! Very well done, going to be a fine ride when you are finished.

Bob, frame is coming along very nicely!!!! Should be a good, solid platform for your A-bone. keep the updates coming!!!

No pics from me today, did nothing but more wet sanding on both trucks, and fitting a few pieces when my hands and wrists hurt too bad to sand!!!!!

Well, the Chevy is closer.... I've decided to make a couple changes and additions to mine so it will be awhile yet. Got some customer stuff to get out of the shop first, then a week or so of serious time getting the Merc ready for summer..... Heck, I've had the truck for 16 years so far and never driven it....what's another delay??????
