I came very very close to firing the car up today, if it wasn't for a bad starter it would have happened. Grrrrrr..... Gonna try for next weekend.

Nicely done pro60, I would sure like to be a fly on the wall when the mean mother cranks up, that would be great.
Thanks guys, I really think its an improvement, I got the console finished and everything working including the tach and the stereo today. Well put body back on frame . I had to remove a section of channell to get body down on frame where i kicked it up . I wanted to see how kick up I put in would fit up . I made kick up 2 " just like the spacer block that was placed there during assembly . I will weld a mount to crossmember and bolt body to it . I made it good and level so body set straight across on it .
Found out 5.0 serpentine belt drive has a shorter water pump so may go to that . Will have to do some more research on it. Ford Racing sells this pump and one with new timing cover that is 1 3/4 inches shorter taking a 5.0 block to 27 inches long from pump to rear of engine block . That is a big savings in length over stock one on this 1984 .

That mount must be the very rear one huh bluestang? It looks like it is fitting really well after the cutting, body sits good other than that?
Has anybody ever had the top a-frame keep coming loose on a mus II? I have had to tighten mine(drivers side)twice. What would cause it to come loose? Maybe to knurling is worn out or something. This has me worried, once I put it back in alignment, it seems to drive great again. Very strange. boggles the mind. Anyone know where you can get a 6 1/2" shifter boot? Brick son had a 85 Chrys that did the same thing . Hitting it with impacts would not hold it . I finally put a long cheater on a 1/2 " dr and pulled it good and tight never came loose again.
Brick i would think if you look at a camaro or stang with a stick they may offer a 6 " boot or longer . If you find it before me let me know i too will need one for the 5 spd. Here is one sight never checked them yet .Looking now i see you mean in length my bad.

Thanks Blue, I appreciate it, I don't have to tell you that not knowing anything about upholstry makes things a real adventure but great fun. Something like that E-brake boot. I may just raise the shifter up some more and put a smaller boot on it also. Brick im going to try my first upholestry on the A some tweed material simular to original. Seat springs and wood is fantastic so i can stay original shape also . Hope wifes machine dont burn up this use will be more then she used it in 25 yrs LOL . . You did a great job looks smooth and formed .

I can't take the gredit for that, the wife is the seemstress of the family. Oh and she sewed all of it on a $150.00 machine, it's all tweed also so I can tell you it isn't any sweat if you have a good sharp needle in your machine.Last edited by brickman; 05-24-2007 at 08:06 PM.

Brick thank you i feel more comfortable now . Hats off to the wife . I was wondering if a light machine would do that material and survive. I had home mech in 7th grade i may be able to do this with out sewing the finger .

a bit of progress
The buffing is progressing on Bill's C-10, still have to get at the suspension and get this beast down!!!!
Not much on my '71, dug out an old set of bed rails and set them on to look at. Thinking maybe powder coat them "red chrome" and build a racer back fairing (or whatever we call them today) on the front of the box.... If I'd quit coming up with ideas, might actually get the dang thing done someday...... 16 years and counting!!!! Geez!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Firewall is starting to shape up, Pro!!! I think the lift off hinges and Bear Claws will be a lot more convenient then the straps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Pro get some good shots of bear claw install . I need some ideas to help me. I'd keep the straps as extra holding power.
