Think I might have a couple of the old OEM carbs around if originality becomes a concern. No idea what they had, an Autolite 4100 i suppose??????

Picked up a new roof panel (Newly available) for the "Z". It's just the outer skin (31 lbs.) so I'll do some creative structure fab underneath to stiffen it up. Should save some Lbs. and I'll be gettin' rid of the rust - bondo problem.

Other then the part numbers on the tag, would probably be the same thing as the Mustang carb, correct???? I've got some of these around, thanks Denny... Do you remember what CFM was on which engine per chance?????

They were always a decent carb, maybe we can come up with one for Bobby's new toy, huh??? seems a 650 would work quite well, or maybe bigger?????

I got this one from D&R Classic Automotive in Warrenville, IL, not far north from us. It's a Taiwan unit. They said they haven't had any complaints about fit. It looks straight. I don't have to worry about fitting to inner panels and I'm using Lexan so I don't think I'll have a fit problem. Cheap Taiwan metal in this case is a good thing. 31 lbs. I've been told the top might flutter in the breeze at the top end with no inner structure, so my plan is to add some aluminum square tubing (1/4'' or 3/8'') bows to the bottom side with panel adhesive. A little bracing here & there til it's solid & then cover it all up with the headliner. They say that adhesive holds as well as a welded joint so we'll see if they are right. I still plan to weld the seams. I'm too old the trust the adhesive that much.

Oh, I'm sorry!!!! Wasn't a classic, just another 'Maro. Life's improving here, got a '66 T-Bird and Bill is gone today to pick up a '67 Mustang!!!!! Now If I can talk my pal Dave T out of that little Dodge Ram pickup I'd have a home for my 440 that's been laying in pieces on the shelf for about 25 years. Should have enough stuff to keep me busy for awhile now....

Stock---what's that???? Think the Bird is going to need a bit of a trim on the roofline, a bit more layback on the windshield posts, some air bags, and fresh horsepressure... Don't know about the Mustang yet, haven't even seen it. It's a coupe and will be FE power with a 4 speed. Bill's a bit more of a purist then I am...Doubt there will be any major body mods on it....

    Yup, it's a 4v Autolite Bobby!!!!

And, another surprise on the Bird....the VIN goes 6Y83Q----now for us Blue Oval guys, I believe the Q, 5th digit being the engine code, refers to a 345 HP 428 CI engine.....???????

Now, I just gotta hope my info is correct and it's the original engine in the car as I was told it was.....
